As we kick off the new year we’ve had some official fight announcements for the beginning of 2019. One of them is a WBA featherweight title bout between Leo Santa Cruz and Miguel Flores.
Santa Cruz(35-1-1, 19 KOs): enters this fight coming off two successful title defenses of his WBA strap, most recently beating Abner Mares last summer by unanimous decision. Santa Cruz has appeared to have bounced back rather well from his first and only loss to Carl Frampton in 2016, and will look to keep his momentum going.
Flores (23-2, 11 KOs): took two straight stoppage losses in 2017, but then scored a knockout win in a soft touch against Raul Chirino last April. That was nearly one year ago, though, and he’ll now be stepping up against by far the best opponent he’s ever faced before.
Undercard
Omar Figueroa, Jr vs John Molina, Jr.
SebastiáN Fundora vs Donnie Marshall
Karlos Balderas vs Jose Cen Torres
CéSar Juarez vs Ryosuke Iwasa
Carlos Licona vs Deejay Kriel
Hugo Centeno, Jr. vs Oscar Cortez
